                                      The Machine Tool Sales Fundamentals Workshop (MTSF)
                                      Delivered in-person by Steve Lesnewich, Vice President, Industry Engagement. The MTSF workshop includes 1.5 days of participatory training from a professional machine tool/machine tool accessories sales person on:
                                       
                                      • The proper decorum for a sales person in our industry 
                                      • The most effective ways to prospect, make cold calls and follow-up after customer meetings 
                                      • The key attributes of a sales person that impact customer buying decisions 
                                      • The most effective ways to manage your time in today’s fast-paced sales environment 
                                      • The fundamental selling skills of effective listening, probing, presenting, negotiating, selling with testimonials, obtaining additional sales leads, winning the business and winning repeat business, post-installation follow-up and dealing with upset customers
                                      • The 6 Step Sales Process

                                      We limit the size of this workshop to the first twelve registrants so that attendees can participate in and learn effective role-playing, one-on-one and podium-based presentation skills.

                                      Who Should Attend?
                                      Machine Tool Sales Fundamentals was designed by machine tool industry sales executives specifically for our industry. Ideal candidates for the Machine Tool Sales Fundamentals course are new hires, sales people who have sales experience, but no machine tool industry experience or individuals who are moving from one area of your company like marketing, service, or application engineering into the sales department. 


                                      What are the prerequisites for this workshop?
                                      The Machine Tool Sales Fundamentals workshop makes up part of the Sales Engineer Technical Training certificate. Attendees should have completed or be enrolled in the forty-five MTUniversity classes for sales engineers. 


                                      Where will this workshop be located?

                                      Washington, DC area
                                      May 2-3, 2012
                                       
                                      A pre-work assignment will be e-mailed to all registrants approximately one week in advance. The workshop will begin with lunch served for all participants at noon and then the learning will begin at around 1 pm. Homework will be assigned for the evening after the first 1/2 day session. The second day of the workshop will begin at 8:00 am on the following day and conclude with a Final Exam around 4pm so that out-of-town travelers can make evening flights.
