Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible to register for the CMTSE examination if you have a minimum of one-year outside machine tool sales experience for a machine tool distributor or builder and you have completed four years of related machine tool employment in any or all of the following areas: applications, services, inside sales, training or outside sales (machining experience may be substituted for one-year related tool employment).
or
Have two years of related employment combined with completion of a four-year, undergraduate degree at an accredited institution.
Examination Overview
CMTSE exam questions are developed by the Certification Committee, which includes machine tool distributors, builders, sales engineers, customers and allied industry representatives. The exam is a knowledge-based, online exam consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have three hours to complete the examination.
